The Karachi Port handled 206,538 tonnes of cargo comprising 166,876 tonnes of import cargo and 39,662 tonnes of export cargo including 3,287 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 166,876 tonnes comprised of 50,543 tonnes of containerised cargo; 22,931 tonnes of bulk cargo and 93,402 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 39,662 tonnes comprised of 24,969 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,423 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,040 tonnes of clinker; 1,580 tonnes of wheat and 5,650 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,287 containers comprising of 1,697 containers import and 1,590 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 690 of 20's and 425 of 40's loaded while 03 of 20's and 77 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 610 of 20's and 97 of 40's loaded containers while 544 of 20's and 121 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were five ships namely Northern Dedication, CSCL Yellow Sea, Royal Princess, Afra Laurel and Indigo Devotion carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were eight vessels viz. Kota Layar, Ubena, MSC Roberta, Diyala, CT Confidence, New Challenge, Jay and Shan Dong Hai Sheng carrying containers, oil tankers clinker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 229,372 tonnes comprising 155,552 tonnes of import cargo and 73,820 tonnes of export cargo including 5,747 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 155,552 tonnes includes 7,319 tonnes of palm oil; 75,475 tonnes of coal; 16,550 tonnes of canola; 2,590 tonnes of bitumen and 53,618 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 73,820 tonnes includes 18,244 tonnes of condensate; 55,576 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 5,747 containers comprising of 2,822 containers import and 2,925 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There were three ships namely CV Maersk Salina, MV Alnic NC and MT NCC Maha carrying containers, condensate and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MV Scarabe and MV Lietta carrying coal are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola, bitumen and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as eighteen vessels viz. CV CPO Hamburg, MV Gao Yu, MV Iliaa, MV Port Macau, MV Pacific Activity, MV Valvovine, MV Kobe Star, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Sheng Heng Hai, MT Al-Karaana, MT BW Rhine, MT Chemroad Lily, MT Chemroad Dita, MT Arrilah-I, MT NCC Maha, MT Globe Glory, MT Hori Trader and MT Navigate Voilte respectively carrying containers, bitumen, coal, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were six vessels viz. CV CPO Hamburg, CV ER Tianshan, MV Pacific Activity, MV Sheng Heng Hai, MT AL-Karaana and MT Hori Trader carrying containers, coal, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There are two ships namely CV MSC Maeva and CV MSC Romoko carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
